The Black Beauty Effect

The Black Beauty Effect celebrates the massive effect that the Black community has had on beauty and the beauty industry. In particular, industry titans and pioneers who have worked to open the space for the Black community are featured and highlighted. Contributors include Kahlana Barfield Brown, Jackie Aina, Amber Riley, Andrea Lewis, Melissa Butler, Sam Fine, and more.

We worked hand-in-hand with the show’s producers to develop a schedule and creative post workflow that strived to honor the extensive research they did to outline the episodes, and to showcase the +30 titans of the beauty industry featured in the documentary.

We oversaw the edit process with an eye for bringing the producers’ work to life. We also developed new workflows to beautify old photos and give the show a consistent visual flair.
